Scott Meadows directs the overall business strategy for Brand Real Estate Services. As a real estate veteran of over 30 years, he offers extensive commercial real estate knowledge supported by a strong team and systems-oriented approach. Scott brings a motivational spirit that inspires cultural collaboration and growing organizations. Having built multiple commercial real estate services companies from the ground up, his experience spans all facets of the business. Since joining Brand, Scott has overseen continuous property growth, corporate re-branding, a pandemic response and corporate merger. His leadership and keen understanding of real estate guides a team of professionals who are respected for their service, performance and integrity.
Prior to Brand Real Estate Services, Scott was Managing Director, Property Services at Wells Real Estate Funds where he founded and served as president of Wells Real Estate Services, two property services organizations of up to 85 employees in 16 markets. During his 17-year career at Wells, he also held asset management and property management positions. Before joining Wells, he served as Property Manager for The Griffin Company in Atlanta and as a Leasing Representative and Property Manager for Sea Pines Plantation in Hilton Head, SC. Scott earned a bachelor’s of business management degree from the University of Georgia, where he also completed the Certificate Program in Business Leadership in 2011.
Scott is a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett 2015. He earned industry certifications as a Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) in 2005, a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) in 2000, and a Real Property Administrator (RPA®) in 1993. He holds real estate brokers licenses in Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. He is active with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and also serves on the Boards of the Council for Quality Growth and Sugarloaf Community Improvement District.
Brian Smith leads with an unwavering commitment to serve the people, partners and clients of Brand Real Estate Services. He directs the leasing team for the retail, office and mixed-use portfolio and all associated activities. He is also responsible for identifying and executing redevelopment opportunities throughout the firm’s portfolio, growing the firm’s real estate services and expanding to new markets.
Brian repeatedly delivered successes over the past 25 years to boutique developers as well as multibillion-dollar funds like PGIM & AEW in a multitude of asset classes. He brings decades of experience in gathering the finest selection of culinary, retail, entertainment and hospitality tenants in open air and mixed-use centers from coast-to-coast. He launched his real estate career with Copaken, White & Blitt. He then joined CBL & Associates where he led a leasing team responsible for nearly 10M SF of regional malls throughout the South. Most recently, he served as Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Vice President with Poag Shopping Centers directing their national corporate expansion. He led the fastest growth in the firm’s history, resulting in a portfolio valued at over $1.5B. At Poag he was also responsible for all leasing, development, re-development and tenant coordination teams and completed the redevelopment and remerchandising of projects across the country, resulting in impressive double-digit value creation.
Brian earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Central Perimeter CID. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a founding Board Member of Street2Street, a New York City based nonprofit.
As EVP of Property Management, Miller leads the property management, property accounting and engineering departments responsible for over 100 retail, office, mixed-use and industrial assets. His proactive and collaborative approach ensures the value of each property is maximized through efficient operations, fiscal stewardship and tenant retention. As a people-oriented solutions-provider, he effectively teams with a wide array of people and disciplines—fostering relationships with vendors, owners and tenants alike.
Miller brings a wealth of knowledge to Brand Real Estate Services, having twenty-four prior years of experience with commercial real estate management and operations. He served as General Manager with Piedmont Office Realty Trust where his team managed 4,000,000 square feet comprised of ten Class A office assets in Atlanta. Before joining Piedmont, he held property management roles with Duke Realty and Carter & Associates.
Miller is a native of Atlanta and earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory University. He is an active member and past president of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia). BOMA Georgia honored Miller with The Huey Award for his long-term commitment and service to the commercial real estate industry. He holds the Real Property Administrator (RPA®) and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designations.
Kelly Wallo is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. A key member of the executive management team, she directs the company’s long-range financial planning. Wallo oversees development, corporate and property accounting as well as budgeting and cash flow management to ensure timely, comprehensive and accurate financial reporting to the company and clients. She also presides over human resources and information technology.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Kelly served as Controller for Brand Properties, LLC. Over the past 25 years, she has worked in various roles at several prominent real estate and investment firms as Controller, Development Manager, Asset and Property Manager. Kelly received her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University.
Renee Sullivan joined Brand Real Estate Services in October 2020 upon our merger with Genesis Real Estate Advisers. She is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions for the Property Management Portfolio. She serves as a liaison between accounting and property management to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting. She utilizes her 23 years in the industry to develop policies and procedures to ensure we are meeting the objectives of the assets we manage and to provide the highest level of service to our clients. She strives to be a positive influence and mentor to the accounting staff and to help them with personal growth and development.
Prior to the merger, Renee served the dual role of Corporate Controller and Director of Human Resources for Genesis. As Controller, she was responsible for the financial reporting, accounting, and cash management for all corporate accounting functions as well as supervising the accounting policies and procedures for all property management accounting. As Director of Human Resources, she was responsible for all recruiting and staffing, overseeing employee relations, implementing human resource policies and procedures, and administering benefits. Renee has over 16 years of accounting and human resource management experience.
Renee also served for more than 10 years as the Corporate Accountant for Ben Carter Properties, one of the largest retail development companies in the Southeastern United States and predecessor to Genesis. Powerhouse developers Ben Carter and Scott Hudgens (predecessor of BRES) teamed on the development of The Mall of Georgia, which now brings Renee’s history full circle. Renee earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Georgia Southern University.
Rebecca Waters is responsible for business development and leasing activities in Alabama and North Florida where she now resides. For 8 years prior to this, she very successfully directed the firm’s leasing team and oversaw all associated activities. As a 40-year retail real estate veteran, she has proven success in multiple aspects of the retail sector including leasing, property management, investment sales and construction management. Rebecca’s depth of experience and thorough market knowledge delivers a sharp understanding of an asset and how to create value through targeted execution.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Rebecca served as Vice President of Leasing for EDENS where she managed leasing representatives covering six states and established well-positioned merchandise plans that maximized asset values. Prior to EDENS, she was Director of Leasing with Spectrum Realty Advisors (Colliers) in Atlanta and Aronov Realty Management Company.
Rebecca earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida. She holds a Georgia Real Estate Associate Broker License and a Florida Salesperson License. She has earned the Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM), Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS), Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM), and Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designations.
Candy McIntyre serves as Vice President of Leasing for Brand Real Estate Services and oversees leasing for the company’s office, medical and industrial portfolio. She also handles other office-related brokerage services such as Tenant Representation. As a 30+ year veteran in commercial real estate, she develops and maintains relationships that create asset value. In her career, she has closed transactions totaling over $200 million.
Before joining Brand Real Estate Services, Candy was Senior Vice President of Office Brokerage for SK Commercial Realty. Her career also includes leasing assets for Parkway Realty Services, Parthenon Realty, Transwestern, PM Realty Group and TMW Real Estate.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Major in Real Estate from Georgia State University and holds a Georgia Real Estate Broker License.
Michael B. Walker, CRRP, CLS
Vice President, Leasing
Michael Walker oversees all leasing activities for numerous retail properties in the Southeast. Using extensive industry contacts and over 36 years of experience, he has brought more than 20 retail centers to 100% occupancy, filled several decade-long vacancies, back-filled 5 anchor spaces and significantly enhanced the asset value of numerous grocery-anchored and specialty strip centers since joining BRES in 2016. As of yearend 2023, Michael has completed 165 New deals and 107 renewals, producing $98M in Total Lease Value in addition to generating $4.2M in commission revenue. In the restaurant category, Michael has completed over 60 deals for local, regional, and national operators alike, including many new-to-market concepts from bakery cafés to lunch and dinner concepts including high-end epicurean establishments offering unique menus and experiences, with annual sales from $1-10M.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Michael held Vice President/Leasing roles with major REITs. At InvenTrust, he oversaw leasing efforts for 50 retail properties in the eastern United States. Before this, he led the northeast division’s leasing team for Brixmor Property Group overseeing 13M square feet of community and neighborhood shopping centers. Prior to joining Centro (renamed Brixmor) in 2001, he held leasing positions with Urban Retail Properties and Simon Property Group.
Michael has been an active member of ICSC since 1992. He earned ICSC’s most comprehensive designation in 2018, the Certified Retail Real Estate Professional (CRRP) in addition to his CLS (Certified Leasing Specialist) designation earned in 1998. He was the 2014 Chair of the New England Idea Exchange and held the ICSC State Operations Chair for MA, ME, NH, RI and VT from 2011 to 2014. He holds a Real Estate License in Georgia, Florida and Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from Colorado College.
Lisa Graham serves as Vice President of Leasing where she is an influential representative of our company to both our clients and the industry. She is a vital part of our leasing team and handles the day-to-day leasing of a variety of retail projects throughout the Southeast. Her deal-making skills facilitate the establishment of strong broker and retailer relationships. With over 16 years of retail real estate experience, she has successfully marketed centers and negotiated leases with local, regional and national tenants. Her passion for retail has brought some of the hottest brands in the country to our portfolio. In addition, her involvement in local real estate events and constant investment in the Atlanta retail community have given us a front row representation in the marketplace.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Lisa held leasing positions with several real estate companies including Healey Weatherholtz Properties, where she specialized in the merchandising, marketing and leasing of retail properties and The Windsor Realty Group as a Leasing Agent and Tenant Representative.
Lisa studied Business at SW Missouri State University. She holds a Georgia Real Estate License and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Serving as Associate Broker, Mike Lowrey is responsible for the leasing initiatives of numerous retail, office and industrial properties throughout Georgia as well as brokerage activities. As a real estate veteran of over 40 years, he brings a vast wealth of experience in the areas of land sales, leasing, asset management, property management and retailer relationships.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services in 2008, Mike worked at several of the industry’s most notable firms including Simon Property Group, where he served as general mall manager for the Mall of Georgia, Town Center at Cobb and Gwinnett Place Mall. Earlier in his career, he worked at both First Capital Financial Company and The Rouse Companies.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston. He holds a Georgia Real Estate Associate Broker License, has a Commercial Realtor designation from the National Association of Realtors and is a Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX). He is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM).
Tom Wheeler has retired after a long career with our firm, and still serves as an Associate Broker for Brand Real Estate Services. As the only president in Brand Real Estate Services history until 2014, Tom leaves a legacy of leadership, integrity and customer service.
Tom’s impressive career spans over 40 years when he launched his real estate career with Scott Hudgens Companies, a prominent Atlanta real estate developer with a focus on shopping centers and land development. He has extensive experience in construction, zoning, leasing, property management, financing, brokerage and governmental affairs. Tom has built long- standing relationships with some of the industry’s most notable retailers including Target, Kroger, Publix, Belk, Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, Sears, JC Penney, TJ Maxx and many financial institutions.
Tom earned a bachelor’s of business administration degree (1967) and master’s degree in finance (1972) from Georgia State University. As a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, he was awarded the Bronze Star and Vietnam Service Medal. He is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and its former Georgia Governmental Affairs Chairman, a founding member and past president of the Council for Quality Growth and founding member of The Community Foundation of Northeast Georgia. He was a member of Georgia’s Board of Natural Resources from 1993 to 2010 and Chairman of the North Georgia Mountain Authority from 2001 to 2008. He has also served as Chairman of the Board for Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District and Homestead Bank. Tom is a long-time member of the Capital City Club and Sea Island Club and resides at Sea Island with his wife Maria.
Scott Dorsey is responsible for the oversight of all facility operations for a multi-campus church including all full-time and part-time staff and ensuring successful coordination of church events. He works to enhance the ministry by providing and implementing best practies in standard operating procedures. Scott also manages all contract services and vendor relationships, prepares and implements annual facility operating and capital budgets. His team oversees all facility maintenance, repairs and capital projects and ensures that safety inspections, protocols and processes are followed to provide excellence in all areas of operations. Another function of his job is managing inventory and purchasing facility supplies for all campus locations.
Scott brings over 22 years of facilities management and project planning and implementation. He has also been involved in teaching and coaching at the high school level prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services. Scott taught Leadership Skills to numerous groups in City Government and local High School groups as well.
Scott completed coursework in Computer Science at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, GA, and has been involved in general maintenance and carpentry at various corporations.
Shannon Westberg serves as the Director of Property Management overseeing our PM team and working with the engineering and administrative teams to manage retail, industrial and office space for several Brand Real Estate Services clients in both the metro Atlanta area and in the Southeast.
Shannon is well-versed in multiple software packages including Yardi, MRI, and Building Engines, and has extensive experience with construction management and a wide range of budgeting/ accounting processes as well.
Shannon has over 20 years of industry experience with a number of entities including The Georgia Building Authority, Harbor Group Management Company, Lincoln Property Company and Highwoods Properties. Her background includes management of CBD high-rise and suburban office, industrial, mixed use, and retail assets, as well as the Georgia State Capitol and Governor’s Mansion. She won The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award three times at the international level, with two of those being with Atlanta’s historic Hurt Building. This building is one of fewer than 10 buildings worldwide over 100 years old to be certified LEED Platinum. Her third international TOBY award involved the renovation of 2 Capital Square in 2018.
In addition, Shannon has earned BOMI’s Real Property Administrator (RPA®) designation. She currently serves on the BOMA Georgia Board of Directors.
Serving in the role of Senior Property Manager, Debra is responsible for the operations of a large portfolio of office and retail properties in the metro Atlanta area. Her stewardship and attention to detail shine to bring great value to our clients and tenants. She is a top-performing professional on our team skilled in building relationships and delivering goals.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Debra has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate in both Texas and the Atlanta markets for office, retail and industrial management. Her roles as Senior Property Manager and Asset Manager with Weitzman Group and then LanCarte Commercial as Assistant Director of Property Management have earned her great proficiency and focus in every aspect of property management. Her experience as a small business owner gave her valuable perspective on every aspect of running a successful business.
Debra has a real estate salesperson license in both Georgia and Texas.
As Senior Property Manager, Amy directs operations of a portfolio of office and retail properties primarily in the metro Atlanta area. Amy brings over twenty-nine years of commercial real estate experience to our firm including retail, office, industrial, and medical office property types. Her knowledge and experience make her invaluable to our clients, our team, and our tenants.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Amy worked with The Shopping Center Group, RealOp Investments, and Hughes Commercial Properties. Amy was responsible for Class A office and shopping center assets in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. She assisted in the development and/or revitalization of commercial retail centers, grocery-anchored centers, and big-box centers for BI-LO, Publix, Kroger, Academy Sports, and Hobby Lobby, other national retailers. In addition, Amy has extensive knowledge of brokerage, 1031 exchanges, and property management for large portfolios of REIT and TIC properties.
Amy earned the Certified Property Management (CPM) certification from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) a premier certification in real estate management world-wide. She holds a real estate brokers license in Georgia and a Broker-in-Charge license in South Carolina. She earned her degree in Business Administration and Management from Peirce College in Philadelphia.
Jared Kerker serves in the role of Property Manager where he is responsible for the operations of a large portfolio of retail properties in the metro Atlanta, Columbus and Savannah areas. He brings his knowledge and experience to effectively engage with our team and serve our clients with excellence. He enjoys building relationships within the communities of the owners and tenants he serves.
Prior to joining Brand Real Estate Services, Jared worked for six years in commercial real estate positions including property management roles at Prosperity Capital Partners, and The Shopping Center Group. He has a Georgia Real Estate license and earned his bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from The University of Alabama.
Julio Penaranda serves as Property Manager for Brand Real Estate Services and is responsible for several property portfolios for multiple clients. He oversees retail and office properties primarily in the metro Atlanta area. Julio utilizes his knowledge, experience and personal touch for all of his properties to ensure that we meet our client’s goals.
Julio brings to our company 20 years of experience in the shopping center industry. Prior to joining Brand, he was General Manager of Plaza Fiesta, the South’s largest Hispanic-oriented shopping center. He not only was responsible for all day-to-day operations at the center, he was also the spearhead in the development of three additional Hispanic-oriented shopping centers in Georgia, Indiana and Texas. He has been involved with over 2 million square feet of shopping center redevelopment throughout his career.
Julio attended Rutgers University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish.
