Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter

This year our company’s day of service took us to the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, where our own Brand Morgan is President of the Executive Board. This inspiring organization has operated in Buford for almost 30 years serving homeless children and their moms. Executive Director Maureen Kornowa explained that the goal of this loving and nurturing environment is to end the cycle of homelessness. Their 3 to 12 month transitional living program provides free room and board with customized life-skill training in budgeting, parenting, resumes, job hunting and more.  Children attend local schools while moms use an onsite resource center to find a job and begin work. With time, moms save and learn life skills that allow them and their children to graduate to independent living.

We were happy to decorate inside and outside for Christmas, organize donated articles, and provide gifts for the children from their wish list. If you would like to help with your time, talents and/or financial donations, visit their website here.  You can make a difference!
